Difference between magnet types:Alnico II: Has a lower output and characteristic warmer sound. Alnico II is often used for vintage pickups. Alnico III: Is the weakest magnet but provides a sparkling high and sweet, yet tight low. Alnico V: Has more mids and tighter low characteristics. Offers more attack and has a sparkle bright sound. Alnico VIII: This is the middle of the road between Ceramic and Alnico V magnets. Provides high output with attack. Lots of mids but a bit warmer than Ceramic magnets.Ceramic: These magnets are strong and provide a clear bright tone. You will keep articulation and clarity even with the use of a lot of distortion.
