In this tour guided by a museum educator, you’ll learn how Fragonard’s work greatly influenced the development of Impressionism. Fragonard, a painter and printmaker of the late Rococo era, was known for his remarkable facility, exuberance, and hedonism. He produced over 550 paintings, with only five dated, that convey an atmosphere of intimacy and veiled eroticism. His works are part of the Norton Simon Museum’s collection of European paintings and sculptures, which is considered one of the most distinguished in North America. The tour is free with admission and limited to 15 participants, so sign up at the Information Desk when the Museum opens.
