Sony Electronics Introduces C-80 Condenser Microphone for Studio Recording

Sony Electronics’ Pro Audio Division announced a new microphone for studio recording. The new C-80 is a uni-directional condenser microphone ideal for vocal/voice recording, instrumental recording, vlogging, webcasting and podcasting. This new product inherits the technology of Sony’s revered C-800G and popular C-100 microphones, creating an entry level model that offers high quality sound at an accessible price.

Sony C80 The Sony C80 is a Cardioid Condenser microphone designed for vocal recording. The C80 features the same capsule as the C-100 microphone and same material as the famous C-800G for the diaphragm meaning the C80 inherits the same essence of its predecessors. The C80 is a dual diaphragm design which supresses the proximity effect, enabling stale and constant recording.
