The Caravedo Acholado Pisco is single distilled to 86 proof requiring 18 lbs. of a blend of Quebranta, Italia, Torontel, and Albillia grapes to produce one 750ml bottle. Distilled from fully fermented wine (no pomace) and rested a minimum of one year with no additives of any kind including coloring, sugar, and water. Blending is done after distillation. Distilled through German Alambique and ancient Falca stills.

Earthy, resiny scent with a hint of fruit in the background. At first, the flavor is a little raw, but given some time to aerate, it mellows to an earthy, tropical fruit sweetness. Soft feel. A fine addition to a Pisco Punch. 90 points, Wine Enthusiast (Jun 2011) Aromas of malty and stemmy grape pomace with hints of pistachio oil and yeasty apple bread dough.
